Childrens Drama Classes Sevenoaks

Our childrens drama classes Sevenoaks Academy launches in September 2019. Having run 5 after school clubs at Churchill Primary School for over 7 years we decided to make a change and consolidate our class into our first ‘Mini-Academy’.

Centre Stage is leading the way in independent performing arts training for children and young people.

Our Little One’s class runs from 3:15 pm – 4:30 pm and is available to all Churchill Primary students aged 4 – 7 years.

Our Mini Academy for students 7 – 14 years runs between 4:30 – 6:30, during this time students take part in one Drama Classes and one Musical Theatre class where they learn both singing and dancing.

Teaching The Key Disciplines

We aim to provide expert classes in all disciplines of Dance, Drama and Singing and will teach the techniques and skills to put on showcases of an exceptional standard that all students will be proud of.

We firmly believe that all children should be given access to Performing Arts and we are proud to provide FREE workshops to all schools within our catchment areas. Over the last nine years have provided thousands of children with FREE workshops.

What Makes Us Different?

Want to know what makes Centre Stage different? It’s simple our constant drive to better our teaching, our productions and our students. As we strive to raise our standards we always challenge ourselves by producing FOUR full-scale productions a year!

After all, the best place to learn about being on stage is ON the stage! That’s why we use professional lights, sound, and sets, amazing costumes, the best teachers and of course we have the most fun doing it!

Since opening in April 2010, Centre Stage Theatre Academy has grown from strength to strength, and we have a growing number of main academies, as well as extracurricular clubs in primary and secondary schools.

Producing four full-scale productions a year we make sure all our students get the chance to shine!

Creating Characters

Improvisation lays down the key components to all acting, it gives students the opportunity to create stories and characters of their own and teaches them how to sustain these ideas though their performances. Throughout the term students will take on a number of different challenges whilst devising and producing their own short stories, this class is aimed at raising confidence whilst improving technique, stage awareness, and character development

Script Work gives the students the opportunity to discover different styles and genres of scripts, from soap to sitcom students will work on television scripts and screenplays. They will also study classical and modern playwrights such as Harold Pinter and Shakespeare. The aim is to build the students’ knowledge/understanding of script interpretation and character development. This class is key to improving audition technique

“What an amazing performance, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time; I love love loved it. The standard was exceptional and the whole cast had the audience in the palm of their hands the whole time. I laugh, cried and had Goosebumps from the very first moment the curtains opened.”
– Gemma O’Brien, Audience Member.
